TonyB Report

Well a top top run again today, and …… I said there would be a surprise or two along the way in the original post!!

As normal I was awake almost 2 hours before the ‘off’, my first peek out the window and I thought Christ that looks cold!!!

Kenton put the first smile on my face when I met him and Bryan at Cross in hand – “Morning” he said – “I’m wearing Felicity’s stockings”

Off we set, Bryan with his Christmas lights rollbar flashing away nicely to meet the others at Sissinghurst – the roads were a tad exciting to say the least and when Mark flagged me in front just before we hit the Lydd ring I was wondering whether the “no one in front of me” strategy would be a good thing or not, I sped up but not too much and enjoyed a more controlled blat.

Anyway, todays proceedings were overtaken with the well deserved gifts for the Capitain – a big thanks for all those who helped.

Yes it was furkin cold this morning and the low sun takes a fair bit away from the experience of those cracking roads.

looks like you all enjoyed the tukka again at the cafe before heading off to see Neil’s car

I’m sure he will not mind m telling you, after leaving the site of Neil’s creation me and Hub went and filled up (me with fuel and him with oil ) then set off for home on the M20.

A few miles in I noticed Hub slowing to a crawl behind me so we pulled up on the hard shoulder as he had steam bellowing out of everywhere including the exhaust, now I was not aware he was trying out a new invention using H2O as fuel so this was not a good thing added to the mass of oil seemingly pouring from all over his engine and gear box, add to that the knowledge his once clean header tank is now gungy brown in some places, Umm head gaskets we thinks.

So out of my magician’s hat pulled a couple of bottles of water to add to what he had already with the intension of getting him home at least.

once ready to go he shouted that it would not fire up as if no compression and no recovery plan (naughty naughty what did your good lady tell you) we hunted high and low in the undergrowth for some rope and had to settle for some heavy cable I intended to have on board to use with power jump pack as a tow rope for about 2 miles to the maidstone services.

I left him there and he now tells me his good lady came out to tow him home (god bless her), so a bit of work to keep him busy.

Apart from that cracking day once again chaps.
