So you've just joined, why not say a few words to introduce yourself - a bit about you, your car - whatever!

Welcome. Westfield is a good choice IMO. I'm now on my second.

What budget do you have, and what type of car are you looking for? Something fast and minimalist for some fast road/track action, or something shiny and well equipped for comfortable cruising?

If you're on a budget, then this is a pretty good looking Westyand a steal at £4.5k... I doubt it'll be around long!

If you can spend more, then £8k-£9k would find a reasonable 16v car Zetec/Vauxhall XE powered car.

Great looking car! Hopefully our Westie will be that colour scheme next year :D

I had an Elan Sprint in Gold Leaf colours, but I never liked it, too bling for me.

I think you need to go light on the gold. :D

The reason for the colour scheme choice for us is that the bonnet vents on the FW are inspired by the Lotus 72 and it mostly was in Gold Leaf colours

Sorry, I meant to infer that I'm the odd one out here
I had a woman come up to me at at Goodwood and say she thought my car had the best colour scheme and she looked at me strangely when I turned round and said I didn't really like it.

I'm sure your car will look great :)

You said it Duncan  Paul asked me once what colour scheme I'd have if I didn't have my Gulf strip. I said, Gold Leaf. That Westy's awesome!

But, to get back to the point, welcome David. Nice to see you've caught the kit car bug. We've got a mate who's just picked up a Westy for a bargain price. For some reason, there seem to have been a few good ones at reasonably prices right now. I'm sure Martin will have told you, joining up here is an excellent place to get lots of advice and encouragement as a newbie to the scene. And, whilst you're looking around for possible cars, just enjoy the banter.

Hi David

Welcome to the club, and what a great club it is.

As Graham said, I got my Westy earlier this year via the WSCC and love it. Some great cars out there so good luck with finding something.
