hi there.

So you've just joined, why not say a few words to introduce yourself - a bit about you, your car - whatever!

fwiw and from my experience.....
id recommend finding a ex track car... they've normally been tested to the limits and will be strong enough to withstand whatever you give them on the road.... less time on breakdowns, more time on the roads = more smiles all round...
welcome and I hope you find your perfect car.. 8-)

Hello Scotty,
As they've said it sounds like you'll fit right in here, this is a driving rather than a polishing club.

When I first joined, my car had a 104bhp X-flow. Sounds weedy, but the cars are light & on the road, keeping up wasn't a problem. On a track I wouldn't have seen which way the faster cars went, but that's no indication of fun. Anyway, most important is that the car's correctly registered as what it is, an MK registered as a Dutton is a short-cut to avoid hassle & cost, so what else did the seller not do for the same reason?? The wiring can be a good indication of build quality, birds nest & scotch-loks do not bode well, even if it works now, fault-finding will be a nightmare.

Main thing to decide is what style of car you want, which really means screen & creature comforts or no screen & stripped for action, if you're an ex-biker I'd guess at the latter, but get up early one Sunday & get some passenger rides & a full English breakfast, see what appeals to you, there's no "right" answer.

Yeah i dont really do polishing fury lol! I was looking at around the 115 to 130 bhp region as i thought with the weight that should be enough for a while,i know what you mean about fun and keeping up with the fast guys i'm not bothered with winning any races just frilling myself(not like that) maybe if i like all the lark i will get something with more grunt later(maybe ...who am i kidding)
I now work for a electronics ignition firm which makes stuff for classic bikes if i get a x flow the boss maybe interested in looking ino developing a ignition for it so that may be best as it fits with our "classic" sector. But its seems at my budget i will have to go for what is the best package that comes up.
Handleing and stopping is more on my list than out right power at the mo.
Ex track cars is a good call will look into that.
Luego with a mighty 104bhp!!!
