Hello all; a newbie from the west...

Postby Rob7 » Fri Jun 24, 2011 3:13 pm

Hi folks,

I am over near Southampton, so I realise I am on the 'event horizon' of your region.

I do enjoy a sunny day blat so I will keep an eye on the forum; I am also on L7C Blatchat.

My car is a Caterham Seven CSR200 (viper blue), very pleased with it, had it for a couple of years now.

May see you folks around this summer, so enjoy.

I know this is stretching the blat-o-sphere, but the best roads I have travelled were in Brecon Beacons National Park (used to live there in my youth) and Snowdonia NP.
We did the Taffia two day tour of Wales last year up to Porthmerion, the weather way sooo sunny it was really good.

Closer to home, New forest roads are good. I did a blat to Fleet Air Arm museum (Yeovil way) down the A303 over Easter – that was great, 30c and wall-to-wall sun. Also down to the Submarine museum at Gosport (think that was Royal Wedding day).

And on a sunny am morning parking about two metres from the beach at Poole/Bournmouth works well. Try googling ‘Branksome Beach’ on Pinecliff Road the B3065.

I tend to only venture out when the sun shines, but maybe some thoughts there???

Rob,

Welcome to the forum.

I'm planning a run into Hampshire soon, might pick your brains for some good roads over your way

Cheers

Thanks folks for the welcome.

West Tytherley, not very far at all from my location, I’m just north of Southampton.

A trip to Land’s End is adventurous; but then nothing ventured, nothing gained …

Oh, I forgot to mentioned, I made a sunny blat up to Brooklands. Never realised how steep that banking is; hands and knees job and still couldn’t get to the top! Sad that the old track doesn’t exist anymore, but a good show of aircraft and cars/bikes.

Tony, no problem, let me know when.
