Hi All, My names John and I live near Heathrow, I have been building a Countach lookalike for 7 years now and hope to finish it towards the end of the summer, from what I have read IVA could be a problems on one of these, I also have a Jaguar 340 which slows the build down as it needs plenty of tinkering, I never made it to Detling this year as the weather and show reports did not look to good but will defiantly be attending Stoneleigh.

Welcome John, The IVA can be painfull but i found if you make sure there are no nasty edges your 1/2 way there show willing and every thing looks nice and tidy it makes the testers life easier so this will help to get them on your side.
Look forward to seeing you when on the road this is a great club with peeps who love to drive and have fun so join in when you can.
Good luck Phil.

Re: Hi All
Welcome John, you're new a this then - we've got a chap around the corner from us who's been building a Countach rep for what's got to be more than 20 years
That's not very encouraging is it, sorry, take no notice of me
Nice to have another different type of car in the club. You're right about Detling as a kit car show, but we had a great time on the SKCC stand. You've signed up to the right place for advice, a laugh and getting out with your car - so hurry up and finish it. There that's better
(turned that around, phew....)

Mine went through SVA at Yeading, the tester was very fair, agree about the edges & he seemed to be impressed that I'd had the car MoT'd (against the chassis No.) & driven it there.

Re: Hi All
Thanks for the welcome, these cars certainly take a long time to build and I hope to get it completed by the end of the summer, its good to hear that a few cars have passed IVA at Yeading and he is fair, pre MOT is not a bad idea and saves on transport costs,

Welcome John from one newbie to another. the car looks great , not sure about the inverse wheel look though
, loving the shaguar always fancied one myself, a broadspeed xjc with a corvette lump in it. I'm in the same boat as you trying to get my car finished for at least part of the summer. Hopefully it'll give Mark a chance to sort the fuel bowsers out for the forth coming blats once finished
