Although I'd do that sort of trip at the drop of a hat if I could be sure of one thing....reliability!

I drive down to Italy every year in various hot hatches. Had a few Golf Rs, they make light work of the trip!

Abandon ship  you are already 75% sure of going down

It's a bit shabby, but I'd love to bring it along to the next meet, hopefully some of you will have some good ideas for it and some handy tips and contacts.

She's a bit of an old girl now but should be able to keep up with some of you :D

Yes it is a proper forum, also, no fees & no committee making daft rules.

Don't worry about the car, as has been said, this club's all about getting out in the car & enjoying it - we don't do polishing - more of a quick jet wash for the MoT sort of thing :D

That's true. My paintwork is really poor and it's not the fastest car around but I've been made to feel welcome :-)
MkII Marlin Roadster with Ford 2.0L Pinto and Type 9 gearbox. Going for the oily rag restoration look :-)

Great. Looking forward to meeting you all.

I'm going to meet up with Russ in Brighton and drive up to meet you all with him.

As they say "that escalated quickly!!" :D

Well if the car makes it all the way from Brighton to Breakfast, the Alps will be no problem - so why not? :D

I've got my AA membership up to date!

She's gonna look really shabby next to your lovely machines, but I need to meet up and pick all of your brains so I know where to take the project.

Seats are the first big thing I need to get my head round. I like the JK composites with padding, but not sure they'll fit. I also like the Tiger Rangers.. Anyway be good to talk to a few of you who may be able to take a look at the shabby wreck and give me some pointers!!!

All help greatly recieved. I'm no engineer or master technician....
