So you've just joined, why not say a few words to introduce yourself - a bit about you, your car - whatever!

Hi All,

I have had my Dutton Melos for just over a year now. I bought it for a bit of fun and it really is when you give it a blast. It has a 2 litre Pinto engine and I have been told the running gear is from a mark 1 Escort. I am not a mechanic so don't know to much technical stuff about the car but I am willing to learn when I get together with other members from the club.
I would love to meet up for some local(ish) run outs on new and exciting roads, visit shows etc and I would even be up for some track days or hill climbs.

This should be a link to a picture of my Dutton...... https://www.dropbox.com/s/gooliqrgo8gxw ... 4.jpg?dl=0

Cheers.

Hi crag, i welcome , have a melos also, i know these cars inside out, what do you need to know, bear in mind pinto powered ones are different to crossflow like mine, the steering needs a different steering joint, and there are several small detail differences.
it may be an idea to open a thread on here about it, if theres a build section.

Ha ha, I was trying to think of a user name last night and I work for Mcvities so it had to be biscuit orientated.....

19th August I am working but I think that Bedford might be a little too far for my bum to handle in my seats. I might look into something at Brands Hatch for starters cost permitting.

Cheers Martin,

My Melos is running ok at the moment but good to know I could tap into your knowledge should something crop up. I can do basic stuff but anything past that I would be seeking advice.

Hobnob, are you using the original seat shells? if so buy some very thick foam and make seat pads, thats what i did, i have 2 " on the back and sides, and 6 " seat swabs, very comfortable , once you get used to them, i drove for nearly 4 hours with only 2 very short stops recently
