Hello

Afternoon all,

After a few months of research I have finally taken the plunge and bought my first kit car. It's a westfield 1600 Sports although does need some work on the engine before I can play with it.

I'm based in Ash Vale, near Farnborough, and look forward to meeting some of you soon once it is ready for the road.

Welcome! I'm just down the road - just your side of the Cricketers on the Aldershot Road Guildford. What needs doing to the car?

The engine either needs a new head gasket or has a cracked cylinder. It will be going in to the garage this week to get sorted.

Hi Steve,

It's a 1600 Ford Crossflow at the moment.

Welcome. I'm in Yateley so not far away. Hope they get it sorted for you PDQ. I used to have a 1600 sport Escort... great fun
MkII Marlin Roadster with Ford 2.0L Pinto and Type 9 gearbox. Going for the oily rag restoration look :-)

Thanks Kev. There are a few spider cracks on the gel coat but otherwise it's quite clean.

Thanks Andy, I hope that it's sorted in a week or two.

I will be joining a Sunday run when it's ready. Must be honest...can't wait!
