22nd Sept & 24 Nov for the 7Oaks Autosolo's at Brands. Takes place in the paddock and uses the tarmac rally stage. Great fun.

Still planning to do some sprints. Just need to get the safety gear and car sorted.

The appeal of the solos is the low cost, accessibility plus ability for under 17s to participate. So will definitely be doing some more, even if only passengering at some point in the future, maybe double driving one day.

Lots of guys/gals use MX-5s for this type of competition. Autosolo & Autotests. The quickest cars on the grass tend to be the front wheel drive tiny hatchbacks, Mirca etc.

Sounds great fun - very tempted to give it a go.

Out of interest, how did your times compare to others (and in other classes)?

Good to see you there David and have a bit of a chat. Shame I didn't get a chance to see you doing a few runs.

Looked like a lot of fun and definately something I'm keen to try.
Atmosphere seemed super relaxed and friendly.

Literally any car could turn up and be welcomed I'd imagine.

In my class of three I was last. :( I think I got the 2nd place trophy as 1st in my class was winner overall and each competitor can only win one trophy, so I got bumped up a place. A trophy is a trophy in my book! :D

Overall, I was 30th out of 55. A real mix of cars and abilities there, so I'm pleased with that for a first attempt. If a few more kits, especially SKCC members were there, we'd effectively have our own competition within Class F. Either way, just trying to do the course right and in your own fastest time is fun enough. As Steve says, it's very relaxed.
