Only just had a proper read of this thread Neil. Sounds like you're keeping busy!
Fun project and I'm looking forward to reading the updates (and seeing the pics ) as it progresses. Great to have Dick and Jay onboard too, it's bound to be a flyer!

Re: Why I've been quiet
Yesterday saw me remove the engine ancillaries leaving the bare engine ready to go off to the engine builder. Engine will be away until Feb and is planned to be the last major component to be installed.
This week I had a delivery of the major components and the front subframe came back from the powder coasters.
The old shell will go in the skip this week and the next major job is to strip the race shell interior and get that car away for the cage. This will, with luck, go away before Christmas and come back by mid Jan. Then the build proper will start.

Great catch up, especially hearing all about your build.
Maybe we need to organise a SKCC day to see your first race

Re: Why I've been quiet
Joking aside, who's the bald bloke laying down in my car?! That's what comes of not having a headboard on your bed for the first six years you're married!
Right a quick update. Sonar car now dust. The race shell is on the lift and interior mostly stripped. Seats front and back gone, headlining gone, cards sides and doors gone, rear carpet gone, seatbelts front and rear gone.
To do:- dashboard and everything behind it, steering column, front scuttle wipers and mechanism, plastics under scuttle.
With a bit of luck and a following wind (pushing Dan the apprentice) the shell will be ready to go to the cage builder later this week.
Progress is steady. 13 weeks to the start of the season.
