. The first race I got the start wrong and lost a few places finishing 6th. In this race I had a lot of banging from the back of the car which turned out was from the rear antiroll bar where I’d disconnected one side to try it without the bar connected, so we took the other side link bar off and cable tied the bar out of the way for the rest of the meeting.
The second race was reverse grid meaning I started 8th. When the green flag was dropped I managed to squeeze the guy on the inside over a little and dive up the inside line passing 3 cars before the end of the first bend. The final was lined up by points scored during the day putting me in 6th place again. I got another good start leaving the car next to me and passing another I managed to hold off the car behind me for the rest of the race finishing 4th. In the pits I found one of the front tyres was shredding and down to the cords in places so that got changed for the next race. https://youtu.be/aQwOQpILRJ8
Then they had a allcomers race which went well
. Talking with my cousin that had been watching and he was telling me that I needed to carry more speed into the one corner, which I was trying. Gradually leaving braking till later until I left it too late and ended up out wide aiming for the tyre wall, braked hard and managed to turn the car left across the grass launching it in the air at one point off a big lump in the grass . Stopped and the dash was lit up with a few warning lights gave it a rev it seemed ok so rejoined the race but was a lap down by then so finished last.All in all it was a good day and the car came home almost as it started (although I do need to check it as there’s turf all over the engine and front subframe). Just want to remove the antiroll bars completely and I might treat it to some new shocks for next time.
