I tried to put up a post on SKCC FB today about the WOW run, very difficult and still not showing. Also I have been directing more and more people to SKCC but they all say 'nowt happens' on FB.
Im not a FB fan but all other car groups are massive on FB and the forum keeps fec*in out with logins and passwords. Just sayin' guys, we're getting older but the new blood are FB and Insta

Re: Facebook
Agree John, half the battle is having the time to keep the updates alive.
Anyway, why was posting on FB difficult? Normally you just tag the page?

Re: Facebook
I managed to find a way to post to the page but it doesnt show. Guessing it needs approval? other pages you can just post and then moderators can delete where needed. My job is internet police / security if you need any help mate. Tagging the page isnt the same as posting. Tagging is very different

Re: Facebook
Very strange, I can’t see anything needing approval (although I only ever use my phone to look at FB and the forum). Can you see the page I’ve just shared on there?
Hopefully people should be able to tag the page, share a post to the page and post directly to the page and it should just work hopefully

Re: Facebook
I think what’s happening here is you’re conflating your experience of a Facebook ‘Group’ with that of a ‘Page’. SKCC has a Facebook Page but not a Group. This works as a broadcast medium (when used) by SKCC admins rather than a platform for anyone to post. Facebook groups work more like community forums. Early on there was a decision to not create a Facebook group as it may undermine the (arguably declining) amount of conversation happening here on the forum.
People who ‘like’ the SKCC Facebook Page can post to it but those posts don’t show on the main posts feed. They get listed under a ‘community’ tab, but followers do get notified from time to time of this too.
Now, for the above to work people need to use the forum more to post up runs and general kit car activity, and SKCC admins need to promote this more via the Facebook Page.
