A bit more progress, battening and skirting done. One of two rubberised roof kits turning up next week. Also need to order some paint. Going for Teamac black tar varnish, if it’s good enough for Hastings fisherman’s huts, it’ll do the shed.

Distracted with a couple of other jobs, managed to get one part of the roof done after a lot of hassle getting the bits. FedEx are the worse. Had to order it twice. Ordered the second roof yesterday so we’ll see what happens with that.

Still awaiting the paint. Also awaiting the featheredge weather boarding, that should be arriving by Friday. Awaiting a few bits for the studio which are on back order.

Decided to do the other run of fencing, Had a delivery on Tuesday from Wickes which came with a free argument with the driver. “Not allowed to put it on the driveway mate, more than my jobs worth” type argument. All of 4ft further with the fooking grab. Dumped it on the pavement blocking it completely.. knob.

So fencing at the weekend, back on the roof and weatherboarding next week, finish installing new brick lights, a few runs to the tip, paint the shed, reseed some lawn and watch some motorsport. Also need to fit in a flying visit up north then back to work.

It was unfortunate starting it just before the lockdown Duncan. Materials were and are still a problem. Builders merchants either closed, or if they had online ordering, were overwhelmed with orders. Other stuff using the usual delivery route is delayed or lost due to people’s shopping habits changing and delivery company’s not coping. So all in all it’s been a bit sporadic. though it has given me something useful to do during lockdown, that said, it needed to be done, so another job nearly jobbed.

Didn’t realise I’d not updated this post. So a bit of an update. Did the other run of fencing. Shed was battened and clad with feather edge board. Painted with Teamac Marine paint a synthetic bitumen as used on the fisherman’s huts in Hastings. A new door and ramp added and some odds and ends tidied up. Reseeded some grass with some success. Garden looking a bit better for it.

I retired in July though it dragged on to September. Once done decided to do a few more bits around the house. Had a blitz on the patio area after getting rid of the rubbish and off cuts from the shed. Got a skip in the end. Picked up a pizza oven and made a stand for it. Replaced some facia boards with plastic. Added a new side gate. Replaced a load of brick lights for the third time.

Other things.. A bit of photography going on with a new camera. A couple of trips to Scotland. Gone Sous Vide mad in the kitchen. Got some chickens.

That’s it.. currently knocking through a couple of rooms but won’t bore you with that.

bloody hell - and there's me struggling to find an hour to use the chop saw to cut some firewood; Fair play, good to do jobs and see a decent result afterward.

A diff new camera or the old new camera?

The man cave Mike looks brill. Hope you have finally got to enjoy your retirement ?
You certainly enjoy a challenge ? but you have done a cracking job on all your projects. Love the new gate, simple but elegant and great colours in the wood.
Now you have plenty of time on your hands ?? will you get the enthusiasm back for your kit car ? we all certainly hope so.
