They'd be more likely to allow removal of the house
It does look a beautiful spot. It I had unlimited money, I think I'd knock the house down and build a new grand design somewhere else on the plot.

The house and setting is nice, though we’ve seen better when you take the whole package into account.
You would probably be better with this as starting point.. a building plot for a tenth of the price of the other property..
