The Isle of Wight

I had an interview with GKN Aerospace today, so while I really should've taken the 50mpg Fiat, I actually took the Rickman. Coming off the Portsmouth ferry & turning left, took me round the eastern oldey-worldey bit, which was nice in a New Forest kind of way, very pleasant to look at but while the roads were "windey" the straights were too short to get any speed & once stuck behind one of the many Morris Minors, it was game over. Very poor surfaces too.

However, the west of the island is altogether different, the "Military Road" sweeps along the tops of the chalk cliffs & because it only goes to one small town, there was next to nothing on it. I took the "Middle Road" back to Cowes, & that was very good too. As luck would have it, I'm taking the Fury back there the weekend after next (if it's dry), so I'll be giving it a proper testing then.
