Wansford run today with new HD DVR

Postby Mk7matt » Sat May 31, 2014 9:00 pm

Took some video footage whilst out on a run today with a few other members.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4nWNRPRR8w

This was taken with the SJ1000 which i think was suggested on here as a good little DVR. There are a few niggles to iron out though.

Firstly is my complete ineptitude with all things computerised. Hence the lack of sound on the vid and the fact it is missing 5 minutes of footage. They are in the original file but the internets have stolen them.

Secondly is the shaking - modifications to the mount should sort this.

Thirdly is the sound - knocking from the protective case and wind noise. Strategic foam placement will hopefully cure this.

Cheers,

Matt.

You might want to blank out the speedo on any vids you post up......

Looks fun! I have abit of bog roll in my case on the left hand side it stops the cam wobbling in the case and doing up the mount should stop the shaking mines rock solid.as for sound its not great any way but you have it turned off have a look in the menu or i did have a problem with me doing somthing (i think its if i fast forward it on the cam) the sound goes on play back but if you turn it off and on again.....it works fine again.
Have tapped a hole in the roll bar and put the mount solidly on the which helps.
Luego with a mighty 104bhp!!!

Yeah, what Jeff said about your speedo, it kind of stuck out when we had a look at your vid last night. Or, just bear it in mind when you choose what clips to put up on YouTube, because I'm not really sure what you can do about it, given where it is. I know you can get some kind of obscuring film (best way I can describe it) for laptops, etc., to stop people looking sideways at your screen. Not sure if that might work, or actually stop you looking at your dash

I know we were slightly dubious about the rigidity of the mount yesterday, but you don't know until you try it out. Paul's got the wobbles with his old camera now he's using it backwards, and is trying out a potential solution to that today. I'm sure you'll crack it.

But, quality of the video? That's excellent. Nice and sharp, good colour. Can't fault it. And, I like the camera position. Glad you made it home OK and hope you didn't get into too much trouble. You can at least show your Mrs the evidence that you weren't "mucking about", you were fixing your car - and actually if you hadn't spent the time doing that you'd have been much later having to wait for lift home on a flat bed. Simples :D

Don't worry about my speedo - I'm sure it reads about double :D

I've had issues uploading the vid to YouTube. The sound is present in the original file but did not upload. :?:

Quite impressed with the video quality - might be in the market for one myself! Where did you end up getting it from?

I got the SJ1000 from amazon for £42.

I think they all come from the same place though - China.
