A couple more..
I picked up a polarising filter to improve water reflections and wanted to give that a go, a few efforts below.

Thanks Jeff, they did!! it clouded over pretty much as they left the green.

Found another bit of HDR software, with one click you get an effect called "grannys attic".. liking this one.

Mike, the purpose of the polarising filter is to eliminate reflections. I assume you are using an slr, if so while you are focusing if you rotate the polarising filter through 90° you will notice that the reflections will disappear. HTH.

Thanks Mark, I rotated the filter a small amount to reduce glare and enhance colour in these shots, rather than rotate as you describe and loose the reflections completely.

Another shot of the house with chimney pots this time and selective colour to give a Victorian painted postcard type effect.

that's quite a decent effect, although the Victorian style poss doesnt warrant a modern carriage outside......pity they didnt have a horse and cart..
