I've upgraded to a Denso alternator,so have the following available;

Sovereign SA508 alternator (Lucas type)

68mm dia. six vee pulley to suit a 15mm or 17mm alternator spindle. (currently sleeved down to 15mm to suit the Lucas alternator)

Hey tony,

Interested. Will this suit a silver-top zetec?

Steve,

They came off my silver top zetec, so yes!

The belt length varies with the alternator bracket set-up you have, but as the ad says you can have them for nothing, and hopefully they'll fit.

Cheers

Hi Tony,

It was the complete alternator and belts I was thinking of. Going from CVH to Zetec, and so the alternator has to swap sides, and I can't see how the CVH one would work. Saying that, I haven't got the Zetec mount yet so maybe best I get the mounts and adjuster first then see what I can do with it.

So I'll put this off for now.

Cheers,

Hi Tony,

Your alternator still for sale?

Here is a picture of the mount and adjuster setup that I've got, and the second picture shows me holding my CVH alternator in place but you can see that the adjuster position on the alternator is in the wrong place totally.

Looking at the pics, do you think that the alt your selling would fit? Cheers :)

Steve,

Yes the alternator is still available, the lugs are in the correct position to suit your bracket arrangement, but have you tried undoing the three bolts that clamp the two ends of the alternator together? On the one I have this allows you to rotate the ends through increments of 120 degrees, which might give you the fixing positions you're after? If not the measurements on the lower lugs on the alternator I have are 105mm to outer edges and 86mm to the inner edges, one of these has a 20mm long sleeve which can be drifted into position or removed entirely if you need to, the top front lug is flush with the bottom front lug.

Cheers

Good call there Tony. :) I never knew you could rotate the housing to get a few more fixing options. Anyway, I did this and it looked good when I offered it up to the bracket - then two small bits of metal fell out of the housing and I realised that I must have broken the magnets off the voltage regulator when I fitted the two parts of the alternator together again  What an idiot I am! - well I won't make that mistake again.

I'd have needed to swap the pulley anyway, since I need the wider grooved type, rather than a thin 'V' pulley.

So, I'll take your alt & pulley after all that. What do you want from it? £30 starting offer...
