Re: WANTED: Vinyl Flooring in the Garage
The inter-locking tiles are great for the knees & they are warm to lie on; covered the whole garage floor 8 years ago. ( Money was a little more plenty-full) Still good but there are a few things to note :-- they do NOT like welding spatter, makes lots of tiny holes & will burn if weld gob is big. Don't place under bench/cupboard feet as they expand & contract a little with temp changes. My workshop is 28 x 14 feet & they expand maybe 1/2 inch in summer( or when the 'shop heating is working well). Parking the car on them no problem, leaves a tyre print which disappears when car moved & jacking car needs a pad of plywood under jack wheels.

Re: WANTED: Vinyl Flooring in the Garage
Theres no skips were I live Matt !!
There are problems with any flooring in a garage, and ive tried a few over the years
it really does depend on what your garage is used for,
Bare concrete is cold and dusty, and oil leaks etc are very difficult to clean up
Cushion floor lino was a much nicer feel, but gets damaged very easily by trolley jacks axle stands etc
carpet was very comfy, but after a period of time , gets so dirty its like walking on a dirty lawn, and is a bugger when welding !
these interlocking foam tiles look very good, and my neighbour has some , but just like the cushion flooring, they get digs and scrapes
very easily, his tiles were only down a week, and already looked tired
My garage has a painted floor (need to do it again soon) that is pretty well were the car is, and most car work, but at the worktop end, I have an industrial rubber backed carpet, that cleans up with a hoover and a pressure washer like new

Re: WANTED: Vinyl Flooring in the Garage
Bob, Steve, thanks! I had a look at the Halfords tiles yesterday, but I found them too dark. and I can imagine oil being absorbed by them as well. And my car's leaking oil from every component, including the alternator, which is odd... OK maybe not the last one, but definitely everything else...
