Re: Pheonix on the bay
I'm not sure the roll bar is any good but the rest is pure Sylva Phoenix. The MX5 engine is a good choice and can be uprated later. Would make a reliable car I would think.

Re: Pheonix on the bay
I've been fishing for info on this and emailed the seller, who happens to be the contact name on the Cyana Sports Cars site. An Ian Boulton. The car is a factory built car (as they all are) and it doesn't appear they do many, if any anymore. This looks like the demonstrator as a couple of the photos are straight from the website.
Jeff in searching for info I see your name come up on the JPSC site asking about Cyana cars back in July last year. Do you know much about them?
I do like the look of the car and the price is right. Anyone know if the Zetec bolts onto the MX5 box?

Well Mazda and Ford are effectively one company - the Duratec bolts to the MX5 box, I would imagine the zetec does too with the right bits. That said the MX5 lump is probably plenty in that car and there are a huge range of goodies for it - including a supercharger.

Think the durqtec is different to the zetec bolt pattern wise. Though it could be possible to have a bellhousing made to fit the two together. They may already make them.

Re: Pheonix on the bay
As far as I'm aware this is the factory demo car. Cyana bought the rights to the square tubed Phoenix and Rainbird Racing (Caged) got the roundtube one, both from Stuart Taylor Motosport. I'm not aware of any other Cyana cars out there (but there may well be).
The car is cheap for what it is. There is no reason you couldn't swap the engine out for a Zetec & Type 9 but I would have thought there where other options around tuning the MX5 lump...Given it already has Jenveys and and ECU, either cams or a Turbo/Supercharger kit would be the way forward. Whoever buys it needs to change the rollbar...

Hi all I'm still interested in one of these types of cars just waiting for ins man to do his stuff so i will probably need to dissect your brain Jeff when the time is right. So keep talking chaps I'm like a big sponge. I just love the shape and style of the car especially that silver one yep that would do. How come he has only done 200 miles is he mad has he no friends. Sevens are fantastic to drive and reward you when you get it right but Mr Chapman forgot to design the back end no one has tried to improve it.
