Hi,
1 or 2 would be fine by me, as long as I do some of that north coast! That will satisfy my bucket list!
JoG is not the point here, its which school to believe, the one that said "you didn't miss anything Brian" or the one that said "That was the best days driving so far"

Good people, how do we feel about ferries?
I'm wondering about incorporating this:-
https://www.calmac.co.uk/hopscotch-4-bute-cowal-kintyre

My idea would be to get the Wemyss Bay (pronounced weeeeems) to Rothsay ferry, stay over night somewhere on Bute, then the following day take the Rhubodach (I SO want it to be pronounced RubberDuck) to Colintraive (pronounced Colin try) ferry & the ferry to Tarbert & drive up north from the knob-looking-bit-with-the-Mull-of-Kintyre-at-the-end.

The hopscotch 4 ticket for the three ferries & will be about £30 / car & driver.

It might take some organising as the ferries run to timetables, but I think it might add something if folk are interested.

That sounds like a whole lot of fun, being a bit of a seafarer myself, I'm certainly up for it, obviously mileage would be down a bit those days but that may be a good thing!

Looks good!

I don't mind a ferry - I used one last year when I visited my friend when we were up there

You must be a mind reader Tony. I was going to suggest trying Argyll. They call it Argylls secret coast. The Colintraive ferry is one if not the shortest ferry crossing in the UK. The run to Portavadie has some stunning scenery (see picture below) and Portavadie Marina is next to the next ferry crossing and is well worth a visit.

This week I'm going up to place called Laide, just west of Ullapool. Unfortunately it won'e be in the westfield, it'll be in a truck restricted to 55mph. 640 miles :(
