Not sure myself yet, but either I'm sure we could meet up or meet us at Popham.

Right - time to get serious.

Date 16th Jul

Official start time 05:00 at Popham.

.ITN file to be distributed later (OK, I haven't done one yet).

Fuel stops as close to every 100 miles as I can manage - they will be the way points on the .ITN.

Traffic avoidance:-
The 16th is the week before the summer hols so I'm hoping the majority of families will be on the road the weekend before (to get two weeks in while it's cheap) or the weekend after (start of the school hols), obviously I could be wrong & we all sit in traffic waiting for the engine to boil over. But the silly-early start time is planned to put us ahead of the traffic, I've had pretty clear runs down leaving home at 05:00, so we should be fine. Getting back may be another story, but I know a few ways round the obvious bottle necks & my plan is to program them into the .ITN & we'll delete those waypoints if we don't need them.

Speed of progress:-
There's realy only one route, we've announced a start time on a public forum & the 303 is festooned with cameras, so I for one will not be going hell-for-leather. Having said that the limit is mostly 60 & 70, most of the traffic travels "a little" faster, so I don't see that as a problem. There will be plenty of opportunities for a little fun.

As has been noted I'm planning a long rest stop about 1/4 of the way back, there should be plenty of car parking, food & drink available as well as a beach to stretch out on.

If the weather's foul I for one won't be going, so all the above is subject to confirmation a couple of days before.

I guess we'll arrange two manageable groups of 5(ish) cars at Popham on the day.

As for breakfast itself, much as I would prefer a local hostelry, I'm coming down in favour of the cafe at Land's End simply because it is "having breakfast at Land's End", There are a couple of downsides to this plan though 1/ it's likely to fall below the expected standard of blatting breakfast, & 2/ we may have to pay the daily rate for the car park in order to get in. Might not sound too bad, but the "theme park" at Land's End is free to get in - they make their money from the car parking fees. So, I plan on doing some googling & have a couple of options available. I'll also contact the Land's End people & see if we can park up by the sign post or somesuch.

So, I'd like a new list of names please, ideally with an e-mail via PM.

Cheers
