Had a wonderful family day out at the palace today. My daughter even rated it a seven. Great to meet up with Jeff, Lee and Richard. Steve, sorry didn't realise you were there too.

Anyway, this kit car village. Was it just make believe, because we couldn't find it, despite asking a number of the clueless security guards. Maybe it was just on the Sunday.

Here are some of my better pictures from the day (had to manage with my standard lens as I've still not got the zoom lens fixed). Spot the SKCC member's cars. No prizes I'm afraid.

Mark, sorry didn't say hello. Wasn't sure you were 'one of us'.

I didn't find the kitcar village yesterday either, kent kitcar club did have a few there but that was about it. I did manage to get parked in the car display but my car did look a bit small next to a immaculate camaro with everything chromed and carbon fibred

38.08 Sunday....2nd in class
38.09 Monday....2nd in class

If I could stop locking the brakes I'd have gone a lot faster (the classic 'if only' in motorsport terms)

Had lots of chats with various people over the weekend (including Matt & David + Family) and David's delightful wife who sat in the passenger seat up the course on the 'demo' run. I was speaking to the owner of MSAR about Hans devices on Saturday and said it was a shame he hadn't bought any with him so I could try them out.....on Sunday he did and I splashed for one of the Hans adjustable.

Also spent a long time chatting to the new owner of Kit Car Magazine, Tom Saunders or Tombs, who had the idea for the Kitcar Village which didn't quite come off (no manufactures). He says they will organise it earlier for next year and look to get SKCC on the stand as well as a number of manufactures.

Great weekend as always and I hope everyone who turned up had a great time.

It's mint isn't it. Yes, went very well. Made all the right noises too.

There were a couple of Lotus Talbot Sunbeams (black and gold), they appeared to be very quick for classics.

Next to me at the start line was a Cossie fan. He was clearly very excited when the Sierra rolled up to the line. Somehow the driver managed an almost silent get away. The fan's face dropped, he'd clearly built himself up to hearing 'the big one'. Very amusing.

After Jeff there was some kind of electric tin-top. You couldn't have had more contrast on the start line. The commentator said, 'possibly the future of motorsport'. I said 'you'll be here on your own!'. To be fair it did light the front tyres, make some smoke and climb the hill fairly briskly. I hope there was a 13 amp socket at the top of the hill to allow him a top up to be able to get back down to the paddock.

I was expecting some wheelspinning action shots of the Phoenix David.....I gave it extra berries as well lol.

There where some very nice cars at the event. The FTD on the Monday was 32secs by the Force PT which is 6 secs faster than me and I was 8th overall !

Tom has bought out Den at Kitcar Magazine. He used to be the Marketing Manager.
