We were talking about this last Sunday. I like the idea of another Way Out West run, but the morning format means pretty much A272 most of the way. I found some very good roads around Dorset trying to make it home from Cornwall last August, and they weren't busy even on a sunny Saturday afternoon in the summer. An overnight stay would give a lot more time exploring new roads, and at least going west we don't have to get round London.

Must have read my mind Duncan, Head way out west on day one?, Cheddar Gorge early day two, then a meander back with a lunch stop at a suitable spot?..
