Re: Stoneleigh thread
Ian see below:
Perspective Definition:
As objects become more distant they appear smaller because their visual angle decreases. The visual angle of an object is the angle subtended at the eye by a triangle with the object at its base. The greater the distance of the object from the eye, the greater is the height of this triangle, and the less the visual angle. This follows simply from Euclidean geometry.[1]
The Sun and the Moon appear to be roughly the same size because the Sun, although much larger, is also much farther away. Conversely a large round object that appears in front of you when driving is neither likely to be the sun or the moon, but more likely a man made object called a roundabout. You'll also notice that as you get nearer it also seems to increase in size, when you're really close it will look quite large - at this point - turn the wheel ( another round object just to confuse things ) that is sited just in front of you. Once you have passed the roundabout it will appear to get smaller as you travel away from it - this again is linear perspective - and a sure sign that you turned the wheel at the right time.

if you can click on the above it should show a picture of said roundabout I passed those signs on the right and ended up about ten feet in!
I did take a video of the car being removed and loaded on the truck but it wont play on my PC.
