crunchie,
my personal opinion is we should do our own, why don't we do a coastal route from spain through france using ferries?
there is a car carrier train to Italy but not sure on price tbh.
I don't fancy joining anyone elses club to be honest... if its me and you then so be it...
it has to be epic though...
il have a good google over the next few days..

Paul,

How would you feel about Norway? The roads look fantastic.. plenty of other things to do as well.

I have spent 18 months in Norway in my life and it is a beautiful place.. the second link looks fantastic and shows you the potential.. it also shows you everything to see and do on the routes.. it would be pretty simple to organise through this website and the roads look bloody amazing....
what an adventure that would be!! and stickers from Norway... :D who else would have them in the club.. :D
I know your very active Paul so we could add a few activities in for good measure... the women are gorgeous and the beer is good may I add.
could be mighty expensive though if we are not careful...things are darn expensive over there.. I once paid 32 pound for a margarita pizza from pizza hut..
I know beers cheap in Spain..

fuel prices oslo...
£1.51 x 1000 miles @20 mpg = £571.56

east coast looks driest...

Thoughts?

Norway is definatley on my ticklist, but getting there is a logistic nightmare - if your driving it will take at least 4 days (3 if you drive almost constantly) to get to Oslo and back home again, and the Atlantic road (the must do in Norway) is about another 350 miles further on (direct route), so at least another 3 days there and back - so thats eaten 7 days before you even think of the mountain roads out there (the two ferry option route is even longer)

I know Neil is planning another LEGEND trip to touch the Arctic Circle but I think thats just there and back and will be too much for me.

that said, the transporter company we used this year has come back with a quote based on 8 cars of £900 each car to Oslo (return), flights were working out about £100 one way - so a potential solution to enjoy a full 8 days in Norway is to swallow the £1100 ish just to get there and back first?? - given the price of petrol out there, and the fact that camping might be a non starter with the weather conditions I think youll be lucky to get any change from £2000.

Spain is by far the cheapest place to go, cheap petrol and accomodation/food and I wouldnt mind playing on some of those Cols in the Southern region a bit more, but most of them arent blatting roads as theyre very narrow and cut through the rocks.

When I organise the next one in maybe 2015 Im definatley looking at the Dolomites, Eastern Austria and Slovenia/Croatia area, the Alps are just so convenient to get to and theres so much to explore round there!

Im really suprised by the take up of this trip, its the thing I strugggled with but was lucky enough to have at least 8 cars on the three previous trips, I know its scary stuff taking the car over there, taking a week off also is difficult if the family want to go away later in the year, and just the general cost, but these things can be done on a budget (camping and not eating out every day) but they really are trips of a lifetime!

I am not sure this conveys the trip to the Nord Kapp very well but---.

The pyrenees are very doable and a trip to the picos would be cool.
