Is anyone going to the Bromley Pagent this Sunday?

Well after loads of pm and texts we, that is Dave, ( TOMMO 67) and Chris ( NERO1701) and myself decide to go on a short run before this event.
So we meet at the Maresfield Harvester to redo a route i did on the way to Brands hatch live event last year ( Q bad idea number 1 ), so we could stay local to be at the Pagient for 8.00 ish.

I waited patiently at the agreed starting point nominated by Chris at 05.45 and waited for the sound of throbbing exhaust on half chat, but chris appeared from behind an automatic gate having slid out of his home to the secured car park the other side of the gate and his car was barely warmed once i loaned him a loaded SAT Nav for the day.
i will blame driving into the rising sun for the missed turn on the way to the start point, but we were soon on the A20 / M25 heading toards the start / meet point that i later heard was the first time Chris had ventured above 60 mph in his newly owned car.

Dave was waiting having negioated a few speeed humps on the way from this place in Selsdon

but here are the cars at the start to prove it happened ( started at least ).

Once that was done and plesentries exchanged we set off on the 30 mile route, missed a couple of turns and slowly but surely it dawned on me that this was a route that included a bad road that Big stuff mark advised us on the day to avoid a particular road, shall i delete it, nar we will be fine sure we can get around it ( Bad idea number 2), single track potted road, raised centre, scrapped sump by a couple of the gang, sorry guys, the odd wayward cyclist encountered on a bend.
Eventually we decided to call it a day as time was getting on and selected the destination and then found probably the best bit of road on the way between Biggin Hill and Bromley.

once we parked up we were invited to join the southern continguent of the Westfield sportscar club on the patch they had reserved ( and a few familiar faces ) and were made to feel welcome during the day when we popped back after touring the ever increasing event spread over the two large fields
Thanks Guys.
this picture taken first thing, by the end of the day the place was very busy in the blazing sun.

Bromley alway attracts a great mix of classic cars, specials, trucks, yanks, bikes, customs etc.

Barely a wire in sight

Good write up, and nice pictures :)

I must go to the pageant again soon, when I lived in Hayes, I always went every year.
