Re: Last race of the season
It was good to see you and Jason today Duncan sorry I didn’t get much time to chat.
I had a good day today with the mini. The first race the track was very muddy from last weeks rallycross which sent me sliding across the track at one point almost hitting the banking but carried on and finished 3rd.
Second race the track had cleared a little but you still had to get the right line to miss it. I got up to 1st to start with but with second right on my boot I made a couple of silly mistakes and finished 3rd again.
The final was cut a little short due to the meeting running out of time so our race became 6 laps. It went well and I got 3rd again.
The points scored today got me up from 3rd in the championship at the start of the day to 2nd so a good day and a good finish to the season which I’m well happy with.

Re: Last race of the season
Congratulations Matt on your 2nd Place in the championship
It was a great day, no rain but patchy fog.
I started on pole 2 of my heats but as usual the gremlins were out. The mini wouldn’t really pick up, lacking power. After first heat Matt said have you tried plugging in the diagnostic. 8 faults, reset and cleared faults but still pending but came back with 5faults cleared faults
2 heat running better but still not right
Luckily there was only 7 in a group so top 8 in the points, so all I had to is finish the race
2nd heat there was a few contacts and a mini hit the tyre wall which bought out the red flag but the race did get restarted after a another mini got blacked flagged
Final
changed tyres as was trying some 15” to my trusted 17” Avons zzr
Finished 5th
Great to see Jason and Duncan
And always thanks Matt for your help
We had a good number of pit crew/ catering which is always a help, and the chilli went down really well

Well done guys, another great days racing !!
I'm more than happy to assist with pit crew duties again next year so keep me updated with planned race dates and I'll see what I can do for you both again.

Re: Last race of the season
Some good photos there, well done to both of you, at least the Minis are still in good condition to race next year. Kev just needs some engine work and getting the ABS working.
It's a good afternoon out for £5, with close racing and free access to wander around the paddock. I would recommend it.
Just a shame there is no good route from Eastbourne, at just under 2 hours country road driving. My father's friend signed up to a Lydden Hill track day, he lives up the M40, when he looked the map he said, `it's in bloody France´
