Great fun today guys, nice to see lots of cars out, sat nav problems as always but we all managed to team up again, fab breakfast although a tab busy.
Thanks Nash for the route home, next run we can possibly meet on the way out in Sissinghurst.

Great run out everyone and good fun listening in on the radio (my first time with that, thanks Tony C). Really nice route, just need to do it a but slower one day so I can actually see the scenery

What a terrific morning. Just like old times and loads of people out. Great to catch up with people I ha ent seen for almost a year.

Cheers for the pass ride Matt, just a tad chilly this morning.
Great run out, good to see so many face, catch up on gossip and have more than a few laughs at the breckie table.
Even had a nap on the way back to Matt's so I could crack on in the garage as soon as I got home.

Great first run with the new engine.
Sorry for all the people behind me, with my fuel issues.
A fair few cyclists on the road as graham and Matt found out. when Matt over took them, then Graham over took them, then I over took them and found out that everyone had stopped in front of me, which put me into a 4 wheel lock up, sliding past Graham, as Matt was trying to accelerate through my cloud of tyre smoke to escape my near miss with Graham.oops
and to top it. parked the car at the cafe, Graham backed it up and hit the wire fence and I followed suit and got tangled up in the fence, with which it took the 3 of us to untangle the car

Looked like a nice cafe but couldn’t handle the amount of customers.
didn’t taste the food as feeling a bit ill from the petrol fumes from my car.
Lots of Banta and good catch up
Then nice run back to Matts, for another go at getting the car to running better.
But still not right, Rolling Road next I think.

Well .....,
The morning started ok, got up , jumped in the car and away till a few miles down the road I started to over heat ,took it careful for a few miles and it seemed to sort it self out but still running a tad high for a chilly morning, finally arriving at the highjacked start point to suit a certain person, the smell of fuel was back,hmmm ignore it, so after what seemed a few seconds we were off but my so called none juicy engine seems to have swallowed most of the petrol so I had to peel off to fill up, turned out there looks like there’s a fuel leak so I made a run to the cafe where I found neil and luckily he had some spanner’s to hand so we started stripping the rear and found a bodged pipe from the alps trip I’d forgotten about had disintegrated and was pi$$ing fuel everywhere, after a quick chat to one of the train engineers I had a pipe I could fanshion up to get me home, great to see so many kits and none kits making the effort to get out, great job, cheers all and cheers neil for your help, looks a scorcher next weekend too

Really enjoyed the route, although it was a bit 'central'....
Had a nice run down to the meet point, albeit it was a tad chillier at that time of day than i'd imagined!
Good to see a few had trekked across to brekkie to meet the 'runners'...let's face it, too good a day not to get out and about!

Did some man maths, to work out if i could get home without refuelling - i had a 1 gall can as a spare, and have had issues once the tank gets about half empty...i reckoned it'd be close, but what the heck. Well.....managed 5 miles before there was a slight stutter ( the car not me)...dropped into Maresfield and brimmed the car. Going through the Ashdown Forest it didnt feel right, and def didn't feel right at the first hill i came to. Nursed it home with a gentle throttle - think the rest of the car wondered who was driving it!

I knew i had 2 more hills between 'here and there'....first wasn't too bad, few hiccups but all was fine......the 2nd two miles from home was a sterner test. But again, got to the top...and stupidly grinned and thought that i'd 'won'....had i hell.
A mile from home it conked out....when it had done this before i'd let the system pressurise/get fuel, fire it up and it would 'go'....today, erm, not quite. I managed about 10 yards before it gave up.
But the end was in sight ( kind of), 1 small crest, if i could get it to the top of that it would be (just about) downhill from there.

Thing is - this is 'lanes', single track with a few passing places....i got the frigging thing within 50 yards of that crest and a bloody car came the other way....had to roll back and attempt it all again.
Finally conquered the incline - wow, now i know how Sir Edmund Hillary felt when he got to the top of Everest....
Had enough 'ummph' to get it onto the drive and down to the garage - which is where it'll stay until the Doctors can see to it.
New tank, new fuel pump should sort it......

I suspect that the pump is knackered after trying to pull through a blockage too many times.

Banter at brekkie was bang on as always......looking forward to 7 days of that on the road trip

What a great morning albeit a bit too far west for my liking, next week I’ll organise a run to suit me for a change

I did laugh at the meet point though when Rob moaned about how far he’d had to drive only to be told by a number of other drivers how much further they had driven to get to the start and it would’ve been even further to go more west

Anyway, I thought that was a cracking route, not much traffic and only one section on a bumpy road - and great to see so many cars out - just like it used to be, long may it last!

Banter at breakfast was of the usual standard and the 5 miles I had to do to get back home was great in just my t shirt!
