Saturday 10th Feb - breakfast at Goodwood - rally event

Postby russtik » Sat Feb 03, 2018 7:49 pm

It's the Towncross Engineering South Downs Stages at Goodwood next Saturday. There's usually a good array of historic rally cars being given a good spanking. If the weather's not too sh!t I wouldn't mind popping along for a bacon bap and a mooch about as it's free to rock up and wander about at these sort of events.

Anyone else interested?

Do you remember that televised channel 4 battle of Britain event two years ago Mike? Hosted by prince Harry. After it finished it took us 2 1/2 hours to exit the site ....a distance of about 600 yards ...what a bunch of w****kers.

Hmm I will give this event a miss as I am at a Gin ‘n’ Jazz do so probably better if I give it a miss.

However I have to say that getting out of the field on the Supercars breakfast last year was very slow  Still they do a good breakfast. And I enjoyed the cars although not sure all of them were supercars and there were more special cars in the car park than, for example, the TVRs or Ariels on display. I do like a TVR and an Ariel but are they a Supercar?

errr, not to much of the above is helpful to the OP who has suggested an event that's happening for others to consider.

So there's a rare rally event this coming w/end, if anyone fancies it...

Russ, could be up for that can't get there 'til late morning, but as SWMBO is away would seem rude not to, let's see what the weather brings. As for Goodwood the breakfast clubs are too popular now leading to congestion, but the big events like the Revival are well organised.

Apologies. I do enjoy a Goodwood breakfast and to see so rally cars would be brilliant. :D

Getting in and out of the venue is not so much of a problem with rallies as everyone leaves at different times... So don't be put off by the horror stories above.
