Saw that on FB, and thought, "sump - oops"..... That will have been the recovery you mentioned then not the cable tie fix

That's the only thing that worries me on my car I was going to cut and shut it but haven't got round to it so hopefully the bash plate I've fitted will take the punishment

It already had a shortened sump. It was the tiniest pin hole, so was a very fine jet. Probably ran about 10 miles with it leaking and spotted it when we stopped. We managed to find an old water cooler plastic bottle and cut it to make a catch tray. There was at least 2 litres in it and 1-2 on the Tarmac so th engine should be ok. The owner had just fitted a new digital dash and hadn't yet fitted a compatible sender for the oil pressure readout.
As you can see, he retained his sense of humour and the banter was flowing.
