Does this look like tyre fault or I've ran over a long slicy thing.

It looks to me like you've run something over that's sliced the tyre

Does look odd. Viewing image full-size it looks as if the cuts do not go to the edge of the tread blocks. I see no cuts where the tread groves are cut.

That said, I'd be surprised if it was a manufacturing fault. How deep are the cuts?

Old tyres mate... The fact both have split atbthe back and there both new tyres suggests they have been sat for a long period.. Call demon tweets and also check your tyre codes for the week and year they were made... Not sure where the Avon year codes are so google that..

MOT are thinking of putting 6 year age limit on tyres. Most performance centres put 4 years max.

My old ditch finder rear tyres were in better condition, and they were about 16 years old

they have gone now :D
