As you know I had the NS-2Rs on my SR2 in soft compound. I didn't run R1Rs on that car so hard to compare directly but I'd say they were a definite contender. Really good grip levels and predictability, stiff side walls and surprisingly good in the wet too. I'd happily buy again and will be for the Fury. Though I'll get medium compound this time as I have a lot less power and a bit more life out of them wouldn't go a miss. Not that I know what the soft compound was like in that respect as I sold the car before getting anywhere near tyre replacement.

Got them on the Viento, nothing to compare against, though feel pretty grippy. IMO worth a punt just to try out, nothing to lose and save a few quid in the process.

NS-2R's on my car - medium compound - can't compare to r1r's but the Nankangs do feel 'grippier' than Yoko A539's on the road. Done wet & dry track days and they also feel good there. I'd buy again.

I've considered these for my next front tyre choice as they are half the price of Toyo r888r's. However some sellers list the medium compound as treadwear 120 and some as 180. Which is correct? At that price I may stick a pair on for the rest of this year and see how I go.

The 180's are medium, 120's soft, Some list the 180 as street 120 as track and 180's as hard instead of medium. Not all sizes are available in both compounds. I went medium to get the correct sizes.

To give some idea of comparison I think the wear rating of R1Rs is 160, so the two NS-2R compounds sit either side of this

Just ordered a pair of 888's. My Khumo's have a treadwear of 50 and I just love the way they grip however they are out of stock at the moment. This is the first time I've tried 888's, hopefully i'll like them.
