How are your lights Duncan?
After returning from a little jaunt on Sunday my fog light was hanging by its wire. I copied your example and fitted the same as yours from CBS. The black plastic surround had broken round the bolt holes  . Maybe I had done them up too tight? Fitted a new one this evening on a dab of Sikaflex with the bolts looser. Fingers crossed!

I had a good look at them last night when I went to the Lotus 7 Club meeting after hearing about yours, and so far so good

When I fitted them, I actually bonded the black plastic parts to the rubber wedge I'd made with double sided number plate tape. The idea was to reinforce the join between the rubber blocks, but I may have unwittingly reinforced the plastic instead.

How flat is the surface you're mounting them too?

I think you should phone CBS, maybe they are a faulty batch, but you should at least get your money back as they failed that quickly. It's not like you're new to kitcars after all!

I think that tape was a lucky break
To be honest the rear tub where the light fix isnt that flat, the end of the fitting is partially round the corner. Ill see how this one holds up.
