Megajolt Lite Jounior

Postby Wingco » Mon Jun 05, 2017 8:09 pm

I am posting this on behalf of Tony T,
Tony is having problems with getting on to the SKCC site for some reason.
As the title says, has any one got the wiring diagram of the rs232 ? connector ? the reason is we wanted to check and update the TPS , zero and fully open but for some reason there is 3 wires that have come out inside the connector so it want work. We know there is 6 wires of various colors, we know the plug is numbered so does anyone have what wire goes to what pin ?

Many thanks

AFAIK there is no standard colour scheme, but I did come across this post that lists a suggested colour code http://www.electro-tech-online.com/thre ... ors.25334/

I would check with the vendor to be sure though :)

That's a generic adaptor you have there which you buy without the pins connected. RS232 has 2 cores and a ground connection and so I would normally expect 3 cores connected and the rest loose. From the looks of things aswell, I would expect to see pins 2,3, and 5 connected, and although I can't see the numbering, that looks about right. I believe you must have an RJ45 socket on the other end. Are you using the correct RJ45 cable?

Ok gentlemen many thanks for your input, I will have to look harder at this me thinks. So it sounds like the plug is wired in properly and the three wires that are just sitting in the plug is normal ??

Absolutely. Things I would check:

1. That you have the correct wired cable from the adaptor to the Megajolt. Should be straight wired in my opinion but that's only opinion.
2. That, if you're using a USB-serial adaptor from your laptop it's configured correctly. Changing the USB port can change the COM port on the laptop and throw out your config in the software.
3. That you have the baud rate, stop bits, polarity etc set up as required for the Megajolt.
