Tin top car insurance and breakdown cover?

Postby steve m » Tue Feb 20, 2018 6:35 pm

This is about Tin tops, not kit car insurance

Im sure its been posted before but.......

Firstly, when doing your insurance do we still put down an excess, say of £250, or do most peeps pay a bit extra and have a zero excess ?

And breakdown cover ? as my question is on that, is it specific to the tin top, or any car registered to the policy owner ?

As I could save the £150 the AA charge me, if I can get the locost covered for breakdown, but under the tin tops cover

steve
Thats was probably spelt wrong, or had some grammer, that the "grammer police have to have a moan at

I don't have any voluntary excess..
Just compulsory.
And I have green flag personal cover which covers both Carol and me in any car ,So cover's all 3 cars..driver or passenger, that was £80
With full recovery.

As Graham, I’m covered by the AA for any car. No voluntary excess. Funnily enough A plan came up trumps on the tin top cover.

Breakdown cover sold via the insurance company is usually for the vehicle only, hence why they tend to be a bit cheaper.

I have separate cover with the RAC which covers me and Bev on any car, UK and Europe, including the the Westy.
