You Don't Often See That

Postby Fury1630 » Mon Feb 26, 2018 8:17 am

So, I was driving to my Son's place yesterday morning along the M25. It was about 3deg c & I'm doing about 65 in the slow lane minding my own business, when to my right I heard a low D-D-D-D-D-D-D, looked across & a 1930s 4 1/2 litre blower Bentley went past in the fast lane doing at least 80.

HERO! :D

no pics didn't happen :D

But you're right T, a rare sight.
I rocked up at a 2 bit car meet locally 44-5 years back, a selection of hatchbacks and the like and there was one of them there Bentleys, they'd popped in as they'd seen the cars and wanted a leg stretch - they were off to LeMans....
I smiled inside, there they were about to do more miles in an 80 yr old car that so many kit/'classic' owners do in a whole year....

I’ve seen one around Ashford and even said hello one day when I was in the Indy at a petrol station. I got the look down the nose “you’re a peasant plastic car owner” look and put me right off him. Car was lovely though.

Oh and Mark you look a lot younger than your post suggests!! ;)

Mahoosive credit to the owner/driver for giving it some.

An old mate took his 1920’s bullnose softtop thingummy to Lemans in 2002. Looked like it was straight from the Waltons..

20-30mph all the way. Took it down the mulsanne, past the Hunaudieres cafe on mad Friday, wearing his birthday suit and a bowler hat.. Biggest cheer ever.
Power.. small nail, fast hammer, Torque.. small nail, big hammer.. I got a big hammer :P

Could of been paul carter from kcc! He has on among many other very tasty cars and tends to give them some or have some one give them some....and is very good at the looking down at the nose thing too
Luego with a mighty 104bhp!!!
