loving the info guy's , the cross flow westie has gone, surprise surprise, there is another one £7495 owner builder looks tasty to me but what do i know at present! also to throw in the mix near me is a Luego Velocity £7795 now i know these cars surpass my original budget but thinking another 1.5k on top of my original max budget is possibly buying me into a higher standard car well worthy of the extra?? i have now spotted a Madgwick tad under £7k with redtop.. but Madgwick?? not a name thats popped up??
will try a link but don't hold your breath! i'm a one finger keypad user at best lol, but give me a set of spanners and a welder...

The most important thing is MAKE SURE IT'S WHAT IT SAYS ON THE V5!!!!!

A kit car registered as a Dutton (unless it is a Dutton) or even mentioning "Ford" on the V5 is a problem, best to walk away. Generally unless you pay way over the odds, mash it or paint it pink it'll be worth more-or-less what you bought it for in a few years. So just get something you will enjoy.

Prices generally reflect what you get, there's Robin Hood & Dutton at the bottom, Caterham & Westfield at the top, but only because people have herd of them & feel they know what they're getting. In the middle are a whole bunch of manufacturers, all of which will get you a car as much fun as the top ones, it really just comes down to build quality & V5 for the individual car.

Look at how neatly the wiring, brake pipes & engine hoses have been done as an indicator of build quality. Any fool can stick on a set of flash wheels, but neat wiring & piping needs thought & planning.

Of the three the Luego is the best spec. I can highly recommend the Crate Zetec, Emerald ECU, ITB’s and LSD combo. A few guys here run Luego’s so they can comment better on the chassis.

The price seems reasonable.

Yeah, tidy looking car and the price is nice, bit far away from me though and would imagine it won't hang around at the price, would prefer a widebody but having said that I've yet to try different styles...
