Torsion bars fix the caster angle to 2.5 degrees and the self centering is non-existent on these cars. In fact you would have trouble getting one through IVA because of that issue alone. Switching to coil overs allows us to adjust the caster angle to something more like 4.5 degrees which should hopefully provide self centering, better feel and reduce the tendency to understeer

Some testing at the weekend proved that we were able to increase the caster which provided self centering, and an improvement in cornering. Side benefits seem to be a smoother more refined ride and less noise transmitted to the cabin. Overall it seems to be a success :D
