Fair play Matt that's a job worth doing. I cringe at the thought of tackling stuff like that so its lucky the loom on my current car is pretty tidy. Well done for cracking on with it.

Job well done . All ways nice to see what you have taken out and it all still works, kitcar wiring is a law under its own we have never seen 2 cars the same and they get the long intake of breath when we are asked to sort them out.

Re: Winter project part 2
After the engine change I was running the car on a ESC module from a fiesta for 2 reasons:
1, To see if it would work and what it would be like
2, I was trying to keep the cost down at the time and I picked it up for £15
So yes it did work and ran ok but you could tell that the timing was slightly out and at times you could feel it adjusting the timing whilst you were driving along and then the car would go a little flat not bad but you could feel it. Would I recommend doing it? Yes if you are on a tight budget it will work and seemed reliable.
Today I have fitted the car with a Nodiz ecu which is plug and play and comes with a map already loaded ( you tell them what your engine is ) and it does sound a little crisper I can't say if it drives much different yet as it hasn't left the driveway, but it was as they said literally plugged it in and turned the key. Hopefully get finished under the bonnet with a few other bits and out on a test run soon.
