Thanks foe the offer. Unfortunately they are M6. Actually one came out the other day! James could hear a funny noise and it took us a while to find it. I was going to use thread lock to keep them in place.

Re: New Airbox
M6 is easier to drill if hex heads will go in & I can bring some locking wire & the locking pliers when I bring the riv-nut set How many riv-nuts will you need? I've not got many M5s.

Re: New Airbox
Thanks Tony. I'm not sure if a hex head would fit I'll have to give it a try. I had a go at making the lid this morning but it didn't turn out right. I have an idea for fitting it that would use 4 or 5 nuts. I'll have another go one evening this week then I'll know for sure. I don't mind buying some rivnuts.
I was also thinking about how to seal it to prevent air leaks which means a slight change to the design.
I haven't made something like this in a while and I'm actually quite enjoying it.

Re: New Airbox
Started on a CAD model for Airbox Mk2. The first one wasn't going to cut it so I have revised the plan a little so that it incorporates a larger filter element.

Managed to get a couple of hours in the garage tonight and made some good progress with the airbox.
It's been a right ball ache getting it to fit under the bonnet

Re: New Airbox
Finished the air box over the weekend. Got caught giving it a polish with some brasso in the lounge

It would be better if I had some 2000 grit wet'n'dry
I've used some M6 thread formers for the velocity stacks....
