.........piped into the screen of course - I like your thinking. I don't need that sort of thing in the Fury, I can reach behind me & feel my way into the garage

This is what originally put me on to the idea as once the rear wing is on you just have no rear vision at all.
I am looking at using a throttle body injector unit that retains the carb look but you can access its control unit wirelessly. It is already hooked up to the ignition system so gives you live readings and setup tweaking too. (FAST 2.0 but I'm looking for some feedback on it before taking the plunge).
I've managed to break the Angry Birds addiction ta very much

I think he downloaded an ap that displays the megasquirt engine management data as circular dials (pressures, temps, durations maybe), but obviously is still does all the other stuff the basic tablet will do like being a sat-nav. I guess you could do the same with any small screen & the older ones must be cheap enough on Ebay. You could have keypad ignition.
Evening all.
Great write up Sam. That's going to be a brilliant car when it's finished.
The house move was over 6 months ago, Tony, but just busy with the new(ish) job and house projects and a winter-induced indifference to the kit car.
On the gizmo front, I bought a cheap RS232 to Bluetooth module from eBay which plugs into the Megasquirt RS232 comms port and talks to a Galaxy Tab2 7" tablet which runs an Android app to display ECU stuff. The tablet is also great for offline Google maps, satnav and rally trip distance monitoring (for the rallies in France we tend to do every April and September).
Looking forward to more updates on the Ultima build

Re: Ultima Build
Thanks for the above info, I'll look into it. At the moment I'm set on fitting an Atomic EFI as it seems to tick all the boxes and will be good to match up with their Ignition pack and Distributor.
In other news I've got a pair of these for daily use:

Well aware of 'sub-marining' but will be swapping out to a Tillet bucket seat and full 6 point harness when it comes to track days.

Ultima Build
So, it has been a fair while since any update to this thread and apologies for that. But it's due to saving up to purchase the bodywork, the departure of the chassis, re-roofing the garage, painting the inside again and the car's subsequent return. (A tad busy achieving little build progress really
)
Anyway back to purchasing more components and planning ahead now the Ultima is in the workshop!
Linking some photos in separate posts below (roaming atm) of the project that now at least looks like a car!
Extremely pleased how the GRP finish looks and with the vividness of the colour too. I only ask you to excuse the wheels as they are for rolling purposes only and allow me to keep the final wheels safely wrapped up!
