Theoretically you could have a quick rack with lock stops fitted if you had narrow track as it still needs the stops in there to limit the amount of lock as the wings will still clout bits of the car.

Looking at wide track to avoid the smashing in to bodywork problems

My Westie has a 2.4 that I fitted with no lock stops and a standard narrow track. On full lock the cycle wing does touch the body work but it's not a problem, just a couple of small scuffs. Personally I'd rather have a couple of scuffs than put lock stops on. It has 2.4 turns lock to lock.

I guess it depends on the car Steve,as I'm sure we are all aware with kits the tolerances aren't that great. I had to fit a new RD quick rack to Grahams old car and that definitely needed lock stops adding - I think that depending on the cycle wings used, position of wing brackets and even the steering rack mounts have been welded will play a part in it.

I can easily do a u turn in mine (just as well with you lot - no reverse is also a factor  ) where other Westies are doing three point and more turns.
