Blown diodes in three alternators suggest there is an issue somewhere, got a plan hopefully sort at the weekend. (Extra earth strap, double up the alternator cable and rewire the ignition light so it's totally independent to anything else.)

Car also booked into Bailey Performance at the end of October, Dale loves a Rover V8 so a good starter for 10.

Big shout out to TA spares in Chatham, one man band that specialises in alternators, knows his stuff and as he said gives better advice than google lol.

Bit bored this afternoon, browsing eBay, bought a 4.6 lump for rebuilding over winter, £103.. :D , no slipped liner issues apparently... Yeh right..

If it's any good then the plan is 4.0 Pistons to raise compression, typhoon cam, later front cover and crank driven oil pump to get rid of the oil pressure issues for good. I also need to swap the gearbox out at some point for a reconditioned one I've acquired. so Might as well do an engine upgrade at the same time.

Clutch decided to go AWOL today, with the only part I didn't replace, deciding it doesn't want to play anymore.. Looks like the clutch arm has either bent or broke in some way. Either way it's an engine out jobbie, so mothballing the car over winter until the new engine and box is ready to drop in. Huge thanks to Jay for collecting me from Rochester Airport and taking a look at the car. Thanks again Jay. :)

You've had the best of the weather for this year at least. Sorry to hear it let you down again, but not too expensive, just time consuming like my failed clutch cylinder last year.

£7 part Duncan, and a good day or two to fit. Had a bit of a scurf on the web, clutch arm failures are not an unknown occurrence where an uprated clutch has been fitted. Stress fractures occur where the arm rests on the ball pivot occur and the ball pivot breaks through the arm.

One of those things not expected and easily overlooked unless you are in the know.. On a positive note thinking of all the fuel I'll save..

Couldn't do enough for global warming Paul, back to the daily driver with its 49 C02's.. unless the battery is flat then its 400.. Picked up the 4.6 engine last weekend, its pretty bad, so as expected needs everything doing to it, which will happen as funds and time allow.

Got some wrap delivered, for a bash at the nose cone, thought I'd get the colour out there so we can get the piss taking over and done with by next spring...

I'm not as vain as Nash with his "fushia" this is "Rose Red".. honest... :P

Got bored with continued bouts of fixitus so cheered myself up with some upgraditus. So off to AB Performance on Saturday to pick up a small dose.. looking forward to meeting Andy Bates and having a gander in the workshop.

James and I got to AB performance in Suffolk this morning and met Andy Bates, a top guy, and some real serious quality work going on in the workshop. Despite having injured his back earlier in the week, Andy showed us round and went through some of the finer points of the work they do at AB. The two cars below pretty much wiped the floor in the 750 club series of races this year with total reliability. Andy’s not too sure why they offer a spares package as it hasn’t been required, such is the reliability. The workmanship helps,.. an example of a suspension rocker below, a work of art. Andy also showed us an exhaust system tigged without filler rods,.. perfection (no photo sadly).

Could have stayed all day and nattered but was on a mission, for the puppy below.. a rare as rocking horse shite 3.14 diff, this one being rebuilt by road and race with a Tran x slipper, never fitted to a car, or turned a wheel in anger,,.. all set up correctly ready to drop in and go.

Andy did me a great deal on the diff, and it was a massive pleasure doing business with him… Total Respect.

Looking forward to getting the diff fitted and leaving a few trails behind, and no more piss taking from the Snodhurst girls for leaving 1's..
