The spare thing would rule out a lot of new cars Tony, my daily driver comes with a foam bottle and inflator, no room for a spare and I used them up ages ago. If I have a problem they can recover the car to national tyres or similar.

Was with Adrian Flux, deal with insurance £38
Now with A plan, think it was about the same price
Don’t think they said anything about spare wheel, have to look at the small print
Hope this helps

Hello!
Policy wording for our Breakdown Cover: The vehicle you are travelling in must carry a serviceable spare tyre and wheel, and a key that will let us remove a wheel
secured by wheel nuts for the vehicle, caravan or trailer,
if it is designed to carry one.Confirmed with the breakdown company for you:
If not designed to carry one, would be a recovery - at clients choice to a preferred tyre garage or home - or if no preferred garage then the recovery team will take to the nearest one.
Thanks
Carlie

the aa only expect you to have a spare if it left the factory with one.i have been recovered many times by them with out a spare to a tyre shop or dealer to sort it.

I can recommend ADAC, the German equivalent of the AA -
https://www.adac.de/For about £100 (109 euros) a year, they cover me and the wife for any vehicle, even if you're just a passenger in that vehicle and they cover you for anywhere in Europe. They don't even ask what vehicle you own because it doesn't matter - I specifically chose them because they also cover caravans and I occasionally take mine abroad.
You have to call Germany to renew every year and if you want to claim but they all speak good English. Here in the UK, they have an arrangement with the AA, so an AA van comes out to you - only had to call them once and worked fine.
The only downside is they limit you to 3 callouts a year, I think...

Thank you Charlie from A-Plan , that has had me thinking myself about that. So my car doesn’t have a fertility to carry a spare wheel so I will be treated as breakdown and taken to a tyre place or home etc.
Tony T , change your policy to A-Plan mate it’s cheap and the breakdown works as you can see above.
