Blimey Rich, I admire your persistence, this thread started on 15th June 2018, can that be correct?! I hope you're getting close to being out on the road soon

Re: Locost ''Eleanor'' Rebuild
Yep over 2 years, but to be fair I have had to undertake quite a lot of construction, research, make bits for new skills like the powder coating oven, modify the media blaster and make the spray booth.
As far as completions is concerned although I have had the car together as part of the rough build there are a few things that still need making or purchasing such as overhauling the engine, I would like to send the wheels for refurbishment as they had one or two knocks over the years, no proper water pipework exists yet so no date set at present.
I have had to make quite a big decision over past few weeks to step down from being a struggling manager to a competent infrastructure engineer so far less office time, virtually zero work at home and far less stress. So I have spent far more time in garage (spray booth) so pace is increasing.
Car will need to go to Me Electronics for a set up and need to sort out an unveiling at sometime.

Hi Rich,
Your change of job sounds a very positive move, less stressful is good
I've offered my assistance previously, that offer still stands, though ideally no flatting of paintwork!
Looking forward to seeing completion

Sometimes enough is enough Rich. As others have said it is a positive move. Enjoy the lack of stress and more time with your family and the car no doubt.

As other have said Rich, you know your business better than any of us and stress is not good not just for you but others, been there got the T shirt. A step down is not defeat but knowing your limitations, I think more people should take note really. You and family come first and doing this will give you more time to enjoy life.
The car is coming along nicely and will take a good few months yet, but patients is the key and you have more than most of that.

More clear coat drying on some panels,
have the pass and Drivers side, sides panels, flared panels fully bolted on and the small front panels ready to go on but has to be done same times as the top and bottom wishbones and shock, so time to start putting this lot on and grow a few more hands to slip all the washers in.

I like the finish you've got on the suspension components.

Yep, powder coating crinkle finish, hoping it would last last longer than smooth powder coating, have also done it on the rear arch stone guard that I am really looking farward to seeing on once I have the arch polished and the clear stone chip protector fitted.
At the present the scuttle, nosecone, bonnet and rear panel are drying after a coat of clear. Got some muck in it so have to let them harden before I can flat back a bit and start again with the clear.
Scuttle being the priority as is impeding many jobs.
Managed to get the drivers side wishbones and shock, new ball joints and now the small front panel fully secured
Toook some time finding and fettling the fittings.
Rich.
