Is the car market a bit slow recently?

Postby Alex. » Mon Jul 29, 2019 12:43 pm

Guys,

I had thoughts about Furys and put my Tiger up for sale to fund the purchase of one.
On three forums and not a single nibble! I've not even had a message with a silly offer...

Is the second hand car market a bit slow at the moment, or is £6k for a Tiger Cat E1 with a Pinto just a bit too much?

I really don't want to go down the ebay/bacefook route, so may just have to keep it and upgrade a few bits instead...

Alex.

I imagine it could be a bit slow due to the Brexit situation. I do believe it’s had an impact on house sales according to an agent I spoke to the other week.

Have you considered an eBay classified advert? I sold my first Westie on the bay that way.

Or list it with a BiN price and a strong reserve

Alex, I think £6k for a pinto engined one is on the limit and you will be contending with a lot of cheaper cars.

Only my opinion though.

I've sold all my previous cars on Pistonheads Classifieds, might be worth a try?
Tiger Cat E1 - 2008-2009
Tiger R6 - 2009-2014
Austin Healey Sprite - 2014-2018
Fisher Fury Le Mans - 2018-2019

I am trying to avoid ebay and the mongs that come with it!
Not 100% sure of selling, the other option is to upgrade some parts and keep until at least next year.

It is top end on price, but I think it is a top end E1. That and I only have so much cash available to bridge the gap to a Fury....

That could be an option. I've never sold anything through Pistonheads, does it cost?
