Bonnet repair

Postby Matth93 » Sat Nov 30, 2019 8:09 pm

I decided I would dig out my original bonnet which had holes for the old engine and fill them in to try and keep some of the noise under the bonnet.
It took me a little while to do but has come out ok

Looks awesome ;)

Why is it going to be quieter than the old one?

I’m hoping it will muffle some of the air intake noise a bit as it’s now got no holes in it. The last time I had it noise checked at brands the guy put his meter to the scoop hole and said there’s as much noise coming from the intake as the exhaust. So it’s cost me nothing much to give it a go and I now have a spare with no holes cut where the engine used to stick out

Nice one Matt - looks like you've done a tidy job there. I did a few repairs on mine a while ago and I really like fibreglassing. Got a great sense of achievement when it was all done.
