Thanks one and all.

Yes it’s very shiny.

Yes there’s a roof just for you Tony B.

I have my suspicions about the need for any roll bars. We shall see!

Neil 2ltr turbo. Of the Ford Ecoboost variety.

Not had it on a RR yet. It’s got a different non-Ford ECU so they claim 270bhp but it’s the bucket load of torque that drives it out of the corners that’s the most impressive or concerning depending on ones view.

Good to know Rob re the Ecoboost. Seem to be the way forward for the progressive kit car companies. What are you driving these days?

Red cars are the fastest Rob. FACT. Just ask anyone (With a red car).... And don’t get me started on the aero gains with canvass roofs. But that’s a trade secret I shouldn't be giving away.

I’ve got some plans for the car but it’s got to be run in and shaken down before I start tinkering again. Oh yes and I need to get used to something with a little more “pep” in its step!

Can’t wait for some half decent weather in about 1,000 miles time.

Now you’ve bought the topic of roofs (bearing in mind I don’t think I’ve ever seen you drive without one), how does a roof work with that roll bar?
9 is more than a number

I remember reading an (Autocar?) review of a Caterham written in the Seventies, and they remarked that very unusually, the Seven had the same top speed hood up or down. Their conclusion was the aerodynamics were so dire that the air was so hopelessly turbulent by the time it reached the screen, anything on the car after that was immaterial

I admit the Westfield may be a little better as it is more rounded. You can definitely increase top speed by switching to an aero screen, as the frontal area is reduced substantially with the flat screen removed.
