I know what it was, the car was getting even with you for leaving it so long!
Glad it's running now

Sounds like the sort of issue that's going to lie in wait and spring up again at the worst possible time! But glad it's sorted ..... for now.....

Re: It lives...........
err - i think you jinxed me Chris (L)
Had a run down to the garage to fuel for tomorrow, oh what a joy. 10 mins later it was less of a joy - running rough on what felt like 3 cyls.
Culprit is most likely one of the 2 wires going to the crank sensor, or from the crank sensor.
Because after driving the car home it wouldnt fire again.
Have a new sensor plug on order and hopefully Wilf will pop along midweek and swap on the plug and should be good to go...famous last words i know!
Gutted as was looking forward to a cheeky run out tomorrow, even charged the radio, sorted my music etc.....
hey ho, hopefully will be out next weekend

Sorry to hear that, but as Chris said it was always likely to return and cause problems at the worst time possible. I hope he gets it fixed properly

Mark. At least your problems were local and not further away from home. I’m not sure how the AA/RAC does socially distanced recovery!
You should get Tony B in as the resident wiring expert. Oh sorry what? You want the car to work? Oh perhaps not.
I hope you get her on the road soon. The summer is fast approaching. You missed a good run out today.
